ÉSTE ES UN ARTÍCULO PARA FAMILIAS CRISTIANAS
¡Hola!, hace unos días recibí un mensaje de una mamá que estaba preocupada porque el deporte estaba convirtiéndose en el único interés de su hijo educado en casa, ya que no quería hacer nada más, le preocupaba que eso podía desviarlo de buscar a Dios y pedía un consejo.
Sinceramente me sentí incapaz de darle un consejo y fui en busca de la opinión del pastor Josué Ortiz, quien me dio una respuesta que no solo me sirvió para responder a esta mamá sino que a su vez me bendijo mucho, así que hoy he decidido compartirlo con ustedes también:
\”Hay que ir a la raíz del problema, el problema central del ser humano está en el corazón, idolatramos de manera natural. Aún si estuviéramos en una isla alejados de cualquier cosa que pudiese existir como un deporte, las drogas, el alcohol, el dinero o lo que sea, aún allí tendríamos el problema de idolatría, el ser humano idólatra cualquier cosa excepto a Dios.
Tal vez las tendencias del pequeño estén yendo hacia el deporte, hacía la gloria, la fama o ser el mejor, pero la tendencia de él, si no fuera para ese deporte entonces sería para otra cosa, la ocuparía para videojuegos, para flojera, la ocuparía de muchísimas otras maneras.
Cómo padres no es nuestra responsabilidad y ni siquiera es posible evitar todas las posibles tentaciones, ¡imagínate nada más!, por eso hay padres que cortamos muchísimo de todo. Entonces, aunque sí hay algo muy positivo en tener control de muchas cosas para los hijos, a final de cuentas si nuestra motivación es tratar de proteger a nuestros hijos a tal grado que nada sea un ídolo en su corazón, que nada los vaya a desviar, es imposible hacer eso.
Hay dos cuestiones:
La primera es la espiritual: cómo padres tenemos que enseñar a nuestros hijos el evangelio, pedir por que el Espíritu Santo obre en ellos, que sean salvos, que el Espíritu de Dios esté en ellos morando, porque solo hasta entonces el Espíritu Santo hará lo que los padres nunca podrán hacer: obrar en el corazón de los hijos.
Entonces se dará cuenta que el deporte no lo es todo, que la escuela o el dinero no lo es todo.
Él va a ir cambiando, su corazón va a ir cambiando, en general conforme el ser humano va creciendo van cambiando nuestros deseos a cosas peores, a menos que el evangelio nos transforme.
La mayor carga, que cómo padres deberíamos tener, no es que nuestros hijos idolatran algo, si no que el Espíritu Santo no more en ellos, o que no sean salvos. Y si es un adolescente salvo entonces nuestro trabajo como padres es llevarlo y guiarlo a entender y que siga creciendo en el evangelio y que el Espíritu Santo haga en él su obra.
La segunda cuestión: la práctica, si hay algo que vemos en nuestros hijos que los está desviando, ¡claro que es bueno limitarlos!
Decir – ¿Sabes qué vamos a tener un período de pausa de este deporte o de este videjeugo, TV, amigos… o lo que sea que estemos viendo como padres es valioso, es bueno.
Es nuestra responsabilidad cortarlo, pero NO por miedo para que no se vayan a idolatrar, por que sabemos que cuando ya no vaya al deporte, ahora va a querer verlo en la televisión, y ahora tampoco los vamos a dejar ver la TV, y entonces va a querer salir a jugar con sus amigos… es imposible.
La motivación no debe ser esa, sino más bien: \”bueno estoy viendo que se está haciendo un ídolo en él, estoy viendo que está pasando mucho tiempo pensando en eso, entonces vamos a poner límites, vamos a buscar otras cosas que le ayuden a entender que ésta no es nuestra prioridad como creyentes. Como padres ésta debe ser nuestra responsabilidad.
Podrías decirle -Por estos dos meses vamos a tomar una pausa, y regresas en el otoño. Sería un buen ejercicio, siempre teniendo en cuenta el interés del muchacho, un deporte no es algo malo a final de cuentas.
Si nuestro hijo quisiera ser ingeniero y le gustan las computadoras, entonces como papás lo único que tenemos que hacer es limitar las cosas malas que podría encontrar en las computadoras, y en el caso de un deporte, igual. Dios podría utilizarlo también para algo en un futuro, nada más hay que guiarlo.\”
